Marriage Covenant

Household Order, Economic Stewardship, and Posterity under Yah’s Law

What Marriage Is Under Yah?

Marriage is not romance, cohabitation, or civil permission.
Marriage is a Torah-governed covenant household, sealed by obedience, accountability, and
order.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his Isha: and they
shall be one flesh.”
— Genesis 2:24

Under ICON-ELECT — Government for Israelite Heritage Commonwealth, marriage is
administered as a governed covenant, not a private arrangement.

Yah’s Lawful Order of Marriage

ICON-ELECT recognizes only the biblical order of marriage, which proceeds as follows:

Introduction
Families and individuals become known in righteousness and transparency.

Courtship
Intent is declared. Character, readiness, and order are assessed.
No sexual access is permitted.

Betrothal (Covenant Agreement)
A binding agreement is established to consummate a covenant marriage.
At this stage:
• The Ketubah is executed
• Witnesses are present
• Household expectations are defined
• Use-rights and responsibilities are recorded
“Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth.”
— Galatians 3:15

Consummation
Sexual union occurs only after betrothal, sealing the covenant through the one-flesh act.
“And Adam knew his wife; and she conceived…”
— Genesis 4:1
Sex before this order is fornication, not marriage.

The Ketubah — Covenant Instrument with Use-Rights

Every Marriage Covenant administered by ICON-ELECT includes a Ketubah.
The Ketubah:
• Is a binding covenant instrument
• Defines rights, duties, and economic order
• Establishes use-rights over household assets
• Is enforceable through religious arbitration
• Is drafted to be civilly recognizable as a faith-based marital contract
“The law of truth was in his mouth… he did turn many away from iniquity.”
— Malachi 2:6
Unlike civil marriage—where the state is the third party—the Ketubah places Yah’s Torah as
the direct oversight authority, administered through ICON-ELECT.

Economic Order of the Covenant Household

Marriage is not sustained by romance.
It is sustained by ordered stewardship.
The Husband (Head of House)
• Bears primary accountability before Yah
• Provides covering, direction, and governance
• Ensures provision is not diminished (Exodus 21:10)
• Manages household order and protection
• Answers to covenant arbitration for neglect, abuse, or disorder
“The head of the woman is the man.”
— 1 Corinthians 11:3

The Isha (Covenant Woman)

• Is not passive, idle, or dependent
• Is a builder and multiplier of the house
• Brings labor, skill, wisdom, and enterprise
• Uses her capacity to increase the household
• Does not weaponize income against headship
• Is accountable for peace, dignity, and unity
“She considereth a field, and buyeth it… she perceiveth that her merchandise is good.”
— Proverbs 31:16–18
The Isha’s economic strength serves the house, not herself independently.

Shared Covenant Accountability

Marriage under ICON-ELECT is not one-sided.
Both husband and Isha:
• Are bound by the Ketubah
• Are accountable for covenant obedience
• Submit to arbitration when disputes arise
• Are disciplined when order is violated
• Are restored only through repentance
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”
— Ecclesiastes 4:9

Polygyny and Household Expansion

Torah permits lawful covenant expansion.
When initiated:
• The husband declares intent
• Readiness is reviewed
• Existing Ishas acknowledge peace (no veto power)
• New covenants follow the same lawful order
• Each Isha receives her own covenant documentation
“If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not
diminish.”
— Exodus 21:10

Children, Guardianship, and Posterity

Marriage covenant governance includes:
• Clear household authority
• Guardianship protocols
• Protection of Israelite seed
• Adoption and covering decrees when applicable
• Registry documentation for lineage continuity
“Take heed… that ye deal not treacherously.”
— Malachi 2:15
Children are never left ungoverned.

Civil Marriage vs Covenant Marriage

ICON-ELECT marriage covenant:
• Is governed by Torah
• Is overseen by ICON-ELECT
• Includes accountability, discipline, and restoration
• Uses Ketubah use-rights and arbitration
Civil marriage:
• Is governed by the state
• Lacks Torah oversight
• Does not enforce husbandry or household order
• Is administrative, not moral
“We ought to obey Elohim rather than men.”
— Acts 5:29
ICON-ELECT respects civil law without surrendering Yah’s authority.

Discipline, Separation, and Release

Marriage covenant may involve:
• Counseling and correction
• Separation with covenant intact
• Covenant release after judgment
• Restoration only through obedience
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
— 1 Corinthians 14:40

Who This Is For — and Who It Is Not

This covenant is not for:
• Sexual access without responsibility
• Feminist resistance to order
• Men avoiding provision and accountability
• Disorder disguised as freedom
• Babylonian marriage ideology
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
— Amos 3:3
